In design and content we have settled on the periphery of American publishing—our books condemned as pornography or celebrated as classics. Obsolete gravure printing processes and often controversial content let us remain as we intended, outside looking in.
Produced to coincide with our exhibition at Paris Photo, this limited edition book is a nostalgic look back at over forty years of publishing. It presents fifty images drawn from the pages of fifty iconic titles produced by Twin Palms Publishers and its predecessor, Twelvetrees Press, since Jack Woody first established the publishing house in 1981.
